| Japan’s Earthquake shortened the length of an Earth day Posted: 14 Mar 2011 01:04 PM PDT According to Richard Gross, a geophysicist based at NASA, the recent Japan Earthquake has apparently shortened the length of an Earth day by 1.8 microseconds. While this may not be much, the fact that it has moved enough mass to alter the rotational speed of the Earth is quite incredible. Now I'm no scientist and I'm sure that 1.8 microseconds is nothing in the large scale of things but it certainly puts into perspective the scale of the earthquake that hit Japan.

| Inception – Done in 60 Seconds Posted: 14 Mar 2011 10:06 AM PDT Animator Wolfgang Matzl has made a pretty awesome animation depicting the whole of Inception in just 60 seconds. It's a unique style of animation that's very much like an old Victorian print created in stop motion. Although a Morgan Freeman-esque voice over would have been nice, it's an overall funny bit of animation.
