And if you are wondering if HP laptop computers are made by Compaq, you should know from the start that is the other way around, meaning that Compaq systems are designed by HP. We all know HP and we also know that it is one of the biggest names in the industry. The fact is that the company, HP, took over Compaq Presario a while ago, but still kept the name and the features of the company. On a Compaq laptop you will be able to run your daily tasks such as navigating the internet, watching movies, editing documents, and checking e-mail, web chatting and so on. And with such reasonable price, below $500, you can choose from some of the best models offering both good-looks and reliable performance. Within the company you can find several series, depending on the looks and the features each one has. For example, the latest edition, Compaq cq56 and cq56z comes at just around $379.99, being the starting price, but you can make some updates and configure the laptop as you desire. This is more of a home-use system, coming with a stylish look, and performance to meet your everyday computing needs. You can choose from a series of AMD processors, Windows 7 Home Premium, a clean and black look and 15.6" displays. These laptops have the right amount for being both portable and meant to stay on your desk. With the BrightView LED technology from HP, everything will look crispier and clearer and you will benefit from an improved image quality. What is more, with the built-in Wi-Fi, you will be able to connect to wireless areas wherever you are. There are three USB ports, 6-cell battery (which will allow you to use the system for more than 3 hours). And among the bundle of software you will find inside, there are 5 free games from HP. The warranty is for one year and you can also get online support. In the same price range, you can choose also Compaq cq62-219wm with Intel Celeron processor, Windows 7 Home Premium and the same 15.6" display. There are few business laptop offered by Compaq and more of them are related to small-business. This type of laptop comes all wrapped up in black, including the touch-pad, but this leads to a stylish and more classic look. And if want something modern, with fluid lines and imprint design, then perhaps you can look over the cq61 series, offering most of the same features and the 15.6" display. At more reasonable prices you ca find these types of laptops. Decent configured with decent looks and ready to meet your demands. So, to answer your question again: are HP laptop computers made by Compaq? The answer is no, HP is the main leader and Compaq is just one of the sections with other types of laptop computers. |
How To Take Apart an HP 9005 Laptop Posted: 01 Apr 2011 06:57 AM PDT HP nx9005 is an older model from the company, so you might need to replace or upgrade some of the parts inside. But in order to learn how to take apart HP 90005 laptop, you should know from the start that it is a challenge and you will be required some handling. You will need a Philips screwdriver and a flat head one as well, an electrostatic wrist band and antistatic bag. And now let's get into the works. First of all, you have to disconnect the power cable from the laptop, flip the laptop and locate the battery cover. It should be on the left side. Slide the release latch in order to slide the battery out from its bay. In the center of the laptop is the memory cover. Loosen the screws from the cover (they will not come out totally, so just loosen up until you can lift up the cover). The memory sticks should pop out when the latches will be disengaged. Slide the sticks out from the sockets and place them aside. Now it is time to loosen the screws from the Mini PCI cover. You will find them on the back in the left corner. Disconnect the antenna cables and spread the latches on the sides of the card to be able to slide it out from the socket. Unscrew the hard drive and slide it out from the base of the laptop. Now turn the laptop over and unscrew the back side of the laptop. Open the display as wide as possible, but don't force it. In order to pry up the keyboard cover, use the flat head screwdriver. Underneath the keyboard is the speaker, remove the screws and lift it up. Don't forget to disconnect the speaker cable from the motherboard as well. Lift the keyboard up and also disconnect its cable from the motherboard. In order to get access to the top cover of the laptop, disconnect the PCA cable from the motherboard. The optical drive should be unscrewed next and by placing your fingers in the opening and pushing the back end of the optical drive you can grab it from the sides and slide it out. The laptop display panel has 6 screws which hold it in place. Lift the display panel straight up and remove it. Now turn the laptop over again face down. There should be 16 screws left on the bottom of the laptop, all of them need to be removed. Lift the top cover up by separating the two halves. Disconnect the touch pad cable from the motherboard and remove the whole top cover. Remove the screws holding in place the hard drive cage. Next to it is the floppy drive, remove it as well and afterwards disconnect the cables from the motherboard and lift the cage straight up to remove them. In the front is the IR receiver, disconnect it from the motherboard and also remove the audio board next to it. Remove the shield and disconnect the audio board from the motherboard in order to remove it. The heat sink and the fan assembly are next, on the back of the motherboard. Unlock the processor and then remove the CPU. Grab it by the edges and lift it straight up. Disconnect the modem cable from the motherboard and last, disconnect the motherboard itself (having 4 screws). |
